Canine parvovirus, commonly known as “parvo”, is a highly contagious virus that spreads through contact with contaminated feces or objects, and can persist in the environment for years.
Symptoms of parvo include, but are not limited to, diarrhea which may be bloody or have a very foul smell, vomiting, inappetance (not wanting to eat), lethargy, and hypersalivation (drooling).
Never self-medicate your pet.
Early intervention is key for pets infected with parvovirus. If your pet is experiencing any of these symptoms or may have been exposed to parvo, seek veterinary attention immediately.
